Chessed of Chessed - Lovingkindness of Lovingkindness

April 3 - 16th of Nissan

Everyone has the ability to love in their hearts. How do we express our love to others?  Do I struggle to show my love to others? Do I love others the way they want to be loved, or how do I want to love them? Who are the people that I love?

Today, try something new! Think of a friend or family member and find a new way to express your love. You could play a game with a sibling, or help mom watch the kids so she could rest.

Gevurah of Chessed - Discipline of Lovingkindness

April 4 - 17th of Nissan

Healthy love is a balance of love and discipline. When we show our love it has to be done in the best interest of others. For example, giving your little brother candy for dinner because you "love" him doesn't show your love. Telling him "no you need to eat your chicken" does because the candy is not good for him. When you love your little sister and want to dress her up super cute, but she doesn't like the bow in her hair, that doesn't show love.

Today, help someone else on their terms. When you get your sister dressed let her choose the outfit, or if mom asks you to clean the kitchen, do it how she likes it clean.

Tiferes of Chessed - Compassion of Lovingkindness

April 5- 18th of Nissan

Tiferes, harmony blends both Chessed and Gevurah. When we are too loving or too disciplined in our love we lose sight of the truth, what's important.

Today, try helping someone who is more of a stranger to you. It could be helping a neighbor carry in her groceries, or holding the door open for someone else.

Netzach of Chessed - Endurance of Lovingkindness

April 6- 19th of Nissan

Does my love for others withstand challenges? Am I kind always or just when I feel like it? Can I be counted on for both good times and harder times? We all have lots of friends and sometimes we have struggles. As a good loving friend, it's so important to make sure we are there for each other when things are good and bad.

Today, remind a friend or family member that you are always here for them.

Hod of Chessed - Humility of Lovingkindness

April 7 - 20th of Nissan

As much as we love our family and friends sometimes we get stuck in our own opinion. Like when we argue about where to go on a family trip and you really want to go to pottery painting but your brother wants to go to the zoo. When we add humility to our love we are able to allow someone else to choose or to be right because we love them. Having Ahavas Yisroel is a mitzvah - a commandment from Hashem.

Today, be humble and allow someone else to pick something, whether the Chol HaMoed activity or what to make for dessert.

Yessod of Chessed - Bonding of Lovingkindness

April 8- 21st of Nissan

In order to feel connected to those we love we have to bond with them.

Today, spend some extra quality time with those you love. Maybe play a board game or play outside.

Malchus of Chessed - Nobility of Lovingkindness

April 9 - 22nd of Nissan

When we love others and others show their love to us, it allows us to feel special and dignified.

Today is the last day of Pesach - celebrate your love with those you love!
